Our 2007 vintage celebrates the unique attributes of fruit harvested from Stagecoach Vineyard. Deep garnet in color, our medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon has beautifully integrated flavors of wild blackberries, currants, and ripe plums with hints of bittersweet chocolate. Finely knit tannins lead to a long, rewarding finish.
Providing fruit for some of Napa’s most prestigious wineries, Stagecoach Vineyard is one of Napa Valley’s most unusual sites. It is rugged and dramatic, stretching from Eastern Oakville to Atlas Peak, and climbs all the way to 1,700 feet above the valley floor. In this seemingly inhospitable environment, Cabernet Sauvignon not only thrives, but also develops extraordinary character and complexity.
The combination of cool nights and long, warm days allow the Cabernet grapes from Stagecoach Vineyard to enjoy extended hang time and develop more concentrated flavors. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was cluster sorted by hand, sent to the de-stemmer then lightly crushed. After fermentation and a 14-day maceration period, the wine was sent to 99% new French Oak barrels for a 19 month aging period.
